Session on men’s spirituality

Last night I gave a talk at St. Luke’s parish on men’s spirituality. As I said to the organizers, and repeated at the beginning of the talk, I am (in all honesty) not too sure about the whole issue of men’s spirituality in general, and I certainly don’t consider myself any sort of expert on the topic. I’m not even sure there is such a thing as a “men’s” spirituality as opposed to a spirituality for women — after all, there is only one Heaven, not two, so we have to be careful how far we go with these sorts of distinctions. That being said, and without generalizing too much, I do believe that men and women are different, so I suppose there may be different paths to that same Heaven.

In the end, I wound up giving a talk more on the theology of gender difference and its implications for spirituality (and in particular, for men). I’ll write something up for the Adventus site, and let you know when it is done.

UPDATE: Done!
